"I won't spin the truck and get stuck before even leaving our driveway," I said

I still have yet to spin the Aveo out in this Alaskan winter. Granted there have been times with the tires spinning while trying to get going at a stop light. But no unnecessary spinning of the car as a whole.

Been there. Done that.
"I won't spin out on the way to work!"
Call parents.
I spun out and am in a ditch. Nose in. Help.

Was The Blue Danube Waltz playing on the stereo? Slippery situations require a Waltz.

No, driveway is just ice, no asphalt.

This is my first time actually spinning a car. Not so much "low grip" as "no grip"

Nope, Slow It Down by Amy MacDonald. Yes, I recognize the irony.

Ha ha I know how that is. Whenever it snows here, the snow gets compacted by all the drivers and now we have about a 2 inch thick sheet of ice covering the entire road. Makes driving fun!

See, I can handle that (sorta). That usually has ridges and bumps. This is just a sheet.

We finally had rain here in San Diego yesterday. I managed to turn off the traction control in the M5 for a minute without looping it into a telephone pole. I'm not sure how I'd do with no traction control in that car, as it was lighting up all the time. I can't imagine how bad it would be in "real" weather.

Yea. We have a lot of places that are sheets. Usually on turns for some reason.

That was the plan. Didn't work.

E39, E60, or F10?
![]() 12/22/2013 at 01:23 |

E39. The E60 M5 would actually be to drive in slippery conditions since it has no low-end torque. The F10 M5 could spin pretty easy as well.

I was gonna say. The E60 is probably fairly easy to drive in slippery weather. The F10 seems to have trouble even in the dry, that engine is truly staggering. Great choice in cars...you have excellent tastes. Always wanted one.
